Lyrics

Lyrics

Waiting underneath your balcony
For you to come and rescue me
Juliet, Juliet

What'll we tell our family
Mine doesn't like you
And yours won't like me
Wait and see

We don't have to think about that yet
Juliet

Climbing up your guarded walls
I'm gonna get to you if I have to fall
Juliet

Maybe we can spend the night
We can dance until the morning light
Hold me tight

We don't have to think about them yet
Juliet

Love comes in so many colors,
So many shades
That you might miss it if you hesitate
You might miss it if you don't stay awake
So stay awake

Juliet & Juliet
Star-crossed lovers in a culture that
Wants to tear us down
Look what we’ve found

When I look into your eyes
I don’t have to hide who I am inside
Juliet

Life and death are not the same
We don’t have to live our lives ashamed
We can say our names

We don’t have to think about that yet
Juliet

Love comes in so many colors
So many shades
That you might miss it if you hesitate
You might miss it if you don’t stay awake
So stay awake

Juliet, Juliet
Star-crossed lovers in a culture that
Wants to tear us down
But look what we’ve found

Story

I wrote this song sitting at the piano underneath the balcony in James Chapel for friends whose love is still seen by many in society to be wrong.  I felt called to write this song, to witness that Love comes and we must all take, grab, say "Yes!" before it's too late.
